The Art of Armagnac

The art of crafting Armagnac is a legacy built on four foundational pillars, each rooted in deep tradition and refined by generations of savoir-faire. It all begins in the vineyards, where we cultivate our grapes with care and precision, favoring the noble Baco varietal—uniquely adapted to the terroir of Bas Armagnac. Baco, with its resilience and aromatic potential, forms the heart of our eaux-de-vie. The cultivation and vinification are conducted with the rigor and finesse worthy of France’s finest Old World wines, ensuring purity, balance, and a true expression of our land. Once the wine is ready, it is distilled in a traditional continuous column still—unlike the pot stills of our Northern cousin, Cognac. This method allows us to capture a fuller spectrum of delicate, fruity aromas, preserving the essence of the grape in the distillate. Finally comes the sacred stage of aging, where time and French oak from the Limousin forest shape the spirit’s soul. Under constant scrutiny, our Armagnac rests and evolves in barrels, drawing structure, spice, and softness from the wood. This alchemy between man, nature, and time is what makes Armagnac not just a spirit, but France’s oldest and most storied elixir.

Our Land

Nestled in the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region, our land in Mauléon d’Armagnac is a cherished treasure we have cultivated for decades with pride and devotion. These rolling parcels—among the largest in the area—are more than vineyards; they are living expressions of our family heritage and the unique terroir of this region. With sandy, siliceous soils ideal for Baco and other Armagnac varietals, our estate yields grapes of exceptional quality year after year. Each vine is tended with the care of tradition, ensuring that every bottle of Armagnac we produce carries the true spirit of Bas-Armagnac.

Armagnac

Our Armagnacs from Bas-Armagnac embody the essence of this legendary terroir—renowned for producing the most delicate and complex eaux-de-vie. Drawn from our own vineyards in Mauléon d’Armagnac, each expression reflects the purity of the sandy, siliceous soils and the character of the Baco grape, our signature varietal. Distilled slowly in a traditional column still, our Armagnacs capture vibrant aromas of ripe fruit and subtle floral notes, preserving the soul of the grape. Aged meticulously in French oak from Limousin, they develop layers of spice, vanilla, and rancio over time, offering a deep, elegant spirit that speaks of tradition, patience, and place.
