IN THE HEART OF
BAS ARMAGNAC

Tucked away in the serene village of Mauléon-d'Armagnac, our domain is a true hidden gem. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and centuries-old traditions, it embodies the spirit of Gascony. Here, we craft authentic wines and Armagnacs that reflect the richness of the land and the passion of our family.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Grand Bas-Armagnac In the southwest of France, nestled between the gentle hills of Gascony and the vast pine forests of the Landes, lies a place where time seems to stand still: Mauléon-d’Armagnac. Here, at the very heart of the Grand Bas-Armagnac appellation, our estate thrives on a terroir renowned for producing some of the most elegant and expressive Armagnacs in existence.
Our property, currently in a dynamic phase of renewal and growth, spans more than 100 hectares of vineyards, woods, moorlands, and meadows—forming a mosaic of landscapes that are emblematic of the Bas-Armagnac region. Yet, this estate is more than just a vineyard; it is a living project, deeply rooted in history, guided by the land, and driven by a profound passion.

A Distinctive Terroir

The Bas-Armagnac appellation is the westernmost and most esteemed of the three Armagnac-producing zones. It stretches across parts of the Gers and Landes départements, with key towns such as Nogaro, Eauze, and Villeneuve-de-Marsan marking its boundaries. This area is responsible for the majority of the region’s production.

At the center of Bas-Armagnac lies the revered subzone known as Grand Bas-Armagnac—a terroir often regarded by connoisseurs as the beating heart of the appellation. This region is characterized by its iconic sables fauves—light, siliceous-clay soils infused with iron oxides that lend the vineyards their warm, ochre tones. These well-draining, heat-retaining soils compel the vine to root deeply, resulting in grapes with exceptional aromatic complexity.
The climate here is equally favorable. Sheltered from extremes by the Pyrenees to the south and softened by Atlantic influences, the region enjoys a mild, temperate growing season that promotes slow, even ripening—crucial for crafting fine eaux-de-vie with depth and balance.

A Village Steeped in Tradition

Situated between Nogaro and Cazaubon, Mauléon-d’Armagnac may appear modest at first glance, but it is steeped in viticultural tradition. For centuries, this village has been home to growers, distillers, coopers, and craftsmen whose daily lives revolve around the vine and the still.
Our estate is firmly embedded in this legacy. Generations before us cultivated the land with care and precision, selecting the finest parcels and adhering to artisanal methods. Today, we carry that torch forward—preserving the wisdom of the past while applying a forward-looking vision to everything we do.

A Vineyard in Full Renewal Today, our estate is undergoing a thoughtful transformation. With deep respect for traditional know-how, we’ve embarked on a comprehensive effort to enhance our terroir: restructuring vineyard plots, rebalancing grape varieties, and reclaiming the estate’s full potential.

We now cultivate over 100 hectares, the vast majority of which is planted to vine. Our varietal palette honors both heritage and innovation: Baco 22A – The cornerstone of our Armagnac production, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Folle Blanche, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit and Gros Manseng, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon – Cultivated for our range of IGP Côtes de Gascogne still wines.

Vineyard work is carried out year-round with meticulous attention to detail. Our guiding principle is simple: great Armagnac begins in the vineyard. To achieve this, we employ precise and adaptive viticultural practices—from gentle winter pruning to close monitoring of the vegetative cycle, all the way through to harvesting at optimal ripeness.

We are also committed to fostering biodiversity. Grass cover crops, hedgerows, forest margins, and fallow fields support the ecological balance of the estate. Soil health, microbial vitality, and vine equilibrium are central to our approach. Through this attentive, sustainable viticulture, we strive for excellence—beginning with each parcel.

One of our estate’s greatest strengths lies in its full control of the production process. We grow our own grapes, vinify our own wines, distill on-site using our traditional column still, and age our spirits in our own semi-underground cellars.

Each eau-de-vie is aged in carefully selected local Gascon oak barrels. The aging process is closely monitored: evaporation, topping-up, slow micro-oxygenation—all are managed with precision and patience. We produce both classic blends and cask-strength bottlings, including vintage and single-cask releases, always with the same goal: to let the terroir speak with clarity and depth.

Our eaux-de-vie are marked by their finesse, aromatic precision, and remarkable length on the palate. They embody the true character of Grand Bas-Armagnac: a rare balance between fruit-driven charm, structural elegance, and exceptional aging potential.

Behind every cask lies a harvest, a wine, a distillation, a carefully chosen wood, and years of attentive stewardship. For us, excellence is achieved through consistency and a mastery of detail.

We are actively investing in our infrastructure, replanting efforts, and visitor experiences. We believe that Armagnac holds a unique place in the world of great French spirits—and that it is time for it to be rediscovered by a new generation of curious, thoughtful consumers who value authenticity and origin.

Our estate aims to be a benchmark: rooted, transparent, and welcoming. We are dedicated to sharing the story of our land, the gestures of our craft, and the slow magic that time imparts on our eaux-de-vie.

This is not merely a production site—it is a home for ideas, traditions, and convictions. Anchored in the Bas-Armagnac, at the heart of one of Gascony’s noblest terroirs, it carries a clear promise: to offer an Armagnac that is vibrant, luminous, and deeply grounded.

When you visit our cellars, walk our vineyards, or raise a glass with our team, you quickly understand that every bottle tells a story. A story of rare land, of a resilient rural community, of human endeavor—and above all, a return to what truly matters.
